World of Eric Carle
This course is designed for early readers and young writers. By discovering the exciting world of fiction stories, students will read incredible books by the iconic children’s author Eric Carle. Through engaging class discussions learners will analyze the themes of the texts, practice retelling and writing about the main events, and participate in interactive games. Students will use their imagination to see the world from the perspective of a tiny caterpillar, a mixed up chameleon, and a busy spider and fall in love with the captivating world of literature.
Each session will focus on one Big Idea or Feeling. Ms. Marcie will share puppets, songs, stories, games, and craft projects that help foster social-emotional learning, and strengthen virtual communication skills. In this interactive social-emotional learning through artistic expression students will explore issues of kindness, diversity, and acceptance of self and others. This course taps into children’s inherent resilience and creativity; allowing for constructive problem solving and self-expression through various artistic mediums.
Debate Camp: Level 2
Students will learn advanced argumentation tactics and bring their skills to the next level. Students will learn about opportunity costs, procedural argumentation, disadvantages, and critical philosophy. These lectures are designed to help students learn how to better listen to their opponents, develop critical thinking skills, and discern the difference between reliable and unreliable sources for evidence. By the end of the week students will have developed their public speaking skills, logical reasoning, as well as their ability to listen to and understand others.
Students will build competence in preparing and presenting speeches in a variety of contexts. Public speaking requires us to create and deliver messages in multiple arenas of life, such as conversations, interviews, and presentations. Students will enjoy fun, skill building games to help everyone feel comfortable with the learning process. Students will also make new friends by working with each other, and develop self confidence to speak in a variety of contexts. Students will learn to focus their thinking and speak with clarity, assertion, and confidence. They are also encouraged to respectfully interact with one another, listen actively, and to provide constructive feedback.
Drama and Improv
Designed to help each child develop a rich pool of skills like enhanced self-expression, self-confidence, creative thinking, interpersonal skills through varied speech and drama activities. We will focus on voice modulation, projection, characterization, dramatization, working in teams, appropriate use of facial expression, body language, and space.

Debate Camp: Level 1
Students will learn how to form arguments, listen to their opponents, develop critical thinking skills, and discern the difference between reliable and unreliable sources for evidence. They will learn the basics of argumentation, some advanced debate techniques, and participate in a mini-tournament. This will allow students to learn to speak to a diversity of different people in order to learn how to adapt their arguments to the audience they are speaking to. No prior debate experience is required to participate. Each class will include both a short lecture followed by an activity to help students learn the skill being taught during the lecture portion of class.

Our courses are 4 to 8 week programs focused on a particular set of skills or an interest area. Every course has a clear weekly lesson plan that outlines the activities and expected outcomes. Parents are also provided feedback on the child’s progress through the program.
Each lesson is in a small group format of 4 to 8 kids. The lesson will be conducted via secure video call. After you book, you’ll receive an email with a link and details on how to join using Zoom. You’ll need an internet connection and the ability to stream audio and video to participate. We recommend the parent attend the first session with their child.
