This course is designed for early readers and young writers. By discovering the exciting world of fiction stories, students will read incredible books by the iconic children’s author Eric Carle. Through engaging class discussions learners will analyze the themes of the texts, practice retelling and writing about the main events, and participate in interactive games. Students will use their imagination to see the world from the perspective of a tiny caterpillar, a mixed up chameleon, and a busy spider and fall in love with the captivating world of literature.

Ms. Vivian is a dedicated educator who is passionate about instilling in her students a love for learning. She believes that given the right environment all learners have the ability to thrive; she guides students to have positive and cognitively challenging experiences by setting clear goals and high expectations as well as providing meaningful feedback. She began her career as a Teach for America corp member and obtained her Master's in Education from Dominican University.
