We are on a mission to help children across the world develop critical communication and language skills. We are building a global language school that connects the best native speaking teachers with kids around the world in a live, small group format. Our fun, interactive programs focus on opportunities to learn and practice languages through games, role plays and discussions on topics that kids love.
Traditional language education in schools and in after school programs focuses on the teaching of grammar with limited opportunities to practice the language and understand its usage in real world settings. Additionally, the usual "in-person" programs are guided by where the kids live or go to school and limit the ability for kids to learn from diverse native speaking teachers and classmates from different parts of the world. Imagine a group of kids from 5 different countries learning to communicate better in English or Mandarin or Spanish, learning from and with each other, while discussing their favorite topics like football or space or Legos. As our vision comes to life, this won't be something anyone has to imagine anymore. We are an early stage, well funded startup backed by Point Nine Capital and successful entrepreneurs and executives from global companies across Europe and the US.
LessonLeap was founded by two females who bring the perfect mix of customer empathy, strategic thinking and execution focus to this venture. They are both seasoned operators and leaders and have built and scaled startups around the world. Joining them on the journey is a diverse global founding team of teachers, curriculum builders, designers, developers and marketers (speaking over 10 languages themselves!) who bring a deep passion for the mission and the critical expertise developed from working in companies like Teach for America, Booking.com, Rekki, TeamViewer and Intuit. We are a truly global team working from different parts of Europe and Asia. We work remotely from our homes and ensure we continue to build an amazing company culture through constant collaboration and virtual social activities.
